Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) If Target.Address(0, 0) = "A1" Then Range("a1").Font.Name = Range("A1").Value End If End Sub
Ben Van Johnson
or another gem from John Walkenbach
Sub ShowInstalledFonts() Set FontList = Application.CommandBars("Formatting").FindControl(ID:=1728) ' If Font control is missing, create a temp CommandBar If FontList Is Nothing Then Set TempBar = Application.CommandBars.Add Set FontList = TempBar.Controls.Add(ID:=1728) End If ' Put the fonts into column A Range("D:D").ClearContents For i = 0 To FontList.ListCount - 1 Cells(i + 1, 1) = FontList.List(i + 1) Cells(i + 1, 1).Font.Name = FontList.List(i + 1)' add this line to Johns code Next i ' Delete temp CommandBar if it exists On Error Resume Next TempBar.Delete End Sub
Thank you for your help!
It is possible the list inside of my menu to look exactly like the font menu of excel? I mean, you can see the font as it looks like before you choose it in excel font menu. Instead, with the codeit can be possible only after you choose the font.Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) If Target.Address(0, 0) = "A1" Then Range("a1").Font.Name = Range("A1").Value End If End Sub
It is possible to change this?
I'll try to be a little more clear, with the help of two pictures.
My menu, created with a name list in excel, is as in picture 1;
what I would have, is to see the font in the list as seen in picture 2.
I don't care off course about the TT (true type) symbol, but the true appearance of fonts is what I need.

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. You'll find people are disinclined to respond to cross-posts because they may be wasting their time solving a problem that has been solved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser)to the cross-post. Expect cross-posts without a link to be closed a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us help you!
Read this to understand why we ask you to do this.
Cross-posted here.
Everyone who confuses correlation and causation ends up dead.
You are right. I'm sorry. I forget to post the link of cross-posted.
That is not possible, I'm afraid. Perhaps if you explain your ultimate purpose, we can suggest an alternative method.
What is wrong with Excel's own font list?
I'm afraid that makes no sense to me. Text files contain no formatting information, so what is the relevance of the font dialog?
It is very difficult for me to explain the entire operation of the worksheet, and I'm afraid that confuses you more.
As I said, the worksheet creates a txt. Txt exported is then sent to a forum and format is given by the bbcode.
So if you define the fonts, will show them where the txt will be sent to the forum. In the Attachment you can see the string in the txt and, below, how it appears.
Eg.
So the point is, that is useful to see, in the worksheet (before to post) how the font looks like.:: TEST ::
I hope this help!
