    noexcel=badwork,

    Do you know the worksheet names?

    What range of cells contain data in each worksheet?

    Do you have a good sample of a similar workbook? If so, can you attach it?

    Same as I tried. I even tried to unpack the file to look at the raw XML - but the header is damaged such that the archive cannot be opened. I suppose there exists no backup anywhere? Dropbox or something similar is better than a thumb drive for backups... :-)

    noexcel=badwork,

    It was worth a try.

    I tried to adopt the code from here:
    http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80641

    But, we need to know the worksheet name(s). Without the correct worksheet names the code fails.

    Based on what others have tried for you, your best bet is a prior backup of the original file before it became corrupt (maybe a local backup, firm/corporate backup...).

    I looked at that file in a hex editor: there are no Excel tags or id codes in that file; it's mostly empty spaces.
