Autofill when typing in a cell with a drop down list

I want to be able to start typing a value in a cell with a drop down list, and I want the list to automatically go to the item I'm typing. For instance, if my list consists of numeric values D0140-D9999, when I start typing D72 - I want it to skip through the list to that series of numbers in the list. I know there is a term for this, but I can't think of it.
