Question conditional formatting after VLOOKUP value

    Hi,

I have a sheet1 with certain values in column c. In a different sheet2 I have values in column e. What I'm looking for is a function I can use in conditional formatting that turns the cells background into red when the value in column c of sheet1 is also showing in column e of sheet2.

Can anyone pls help me out

    thx

Re: conditional formatting after VLOOKUP value

An easy way would just be to use a countif column on sheet two to count how many times each of the values appears compared to the range of column C from sheet 1. You can then conditionally format column e in sheet two to say if the value in the countif column for the row is >0 then the background goes red.

    Jhelliar,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

Maybe it becomes easier if I attach an example.
    Pls look at the attachment.

I need the field in column c of sheet1 turn red if the same number shows up in column e of sheet2

    regards

I have reattached the file let me know if this you want.

I had to change the first value in the column on sheet two as their were no matches originally so nothing went red. You can easily hide the 'count if' column on sheet one.
