how can I get rows to stand out depending on choice selected???

What other options do I have to somehow indicate that anything that has a “YES” in column “F” to stand out?

My conditional formatting does not work in Excel 2007 like it did in 2003. Is it an option to maybe not show that row if “YES” is selected or what else can you guys think of??? I’m at a lost and this is driving me crazy since it works in my 2003 version but not on this one.

What about using the Autofilter (drop down arrow in F2 and select "YES")

Btw. The conditional formatting is working in XL2007 for me... the YES rows are grey.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Yeah I'll do that, just liked my conditional formatting more.

As I said, I opened your file in 2007 and the conditional formatting seems to work.

Note: Conditional formatting cannot hide the rows like the filtering... but what you can do is create conditional formatting so that if column F does not equal "YES", then format the row so that the font colour matches the background (i.e. White font). Then it will appear to show blank rows between the YES rows...

I'm not sure why it works with you but not with me... with me it only highlights or unhighlights that cell in column "F" not the entire row... weird.

Not sure... I see that you have the correct conditional formula: =$F3="Yes"

If you close the workbook and re-open it does it still come up that way?

    Hi,

I went through your workbook and noticed if you remove the data validation, it works perfectly fine.

Try it and let me know..

I closed it out and it still does the same, i re-did the who formula and no change... if you type it in it works but if you select it, it doesn't.

I removed it as well and it doesn't work... it only works in my 2003 version not 2007...

Okay, I see what you mean now. That is awkward... it also puts a little gray in the cell to the right... If you play a little with the column width, then suddenly it works fine.... a glitch definitely.

    A workaround...

In H3 add formula: =--(F3="YES") copied down.

Then change the conditional format formula to =$H3=1

    Then I think it works.
