    Re: Conditional Formatting with rules

I can't download your example for some reason, but do you need the cell to turn red if the date is >5 days ago AND or OR certain text is in another cell?

EDIT: Nevermind, I see it now, the above solution looks as if it'll work.

Hello, thanks all for all the help, I have opened the CondFormatAnd.xls, everything seems
to rely on what is in cell d3, am I using the right methods by using the format painter and dragging down?

How can I get Cell E10 to rely on D10?

    Thanks,
    Conrad.

    Hi Conrad,
    Highlight Cell "E3"
    Edit/Copy
Select the remaining cells in Column E to have the same formatting
    Edit/Paste Special/tick Formats & Transpose/OK

    Re: Conditional Formatting with rules

    Hi,

I used conditional formatting to do my example sheet. If you want to expand the range, I'd go into Conditional formatting and expand the range. To do this click on Conditional Formatting and then Manage Rules. If you don't see any rules click the dropdown to show on This Worksheet. Study this rule and change the Applies To range. If you need to use the rule in a different place, or other conditons on your sheet then see how this example works and apply it to your problem.
