dependent drop down from a different sheet in same workbook

    Hello.
I have spent the last 2 days scouring the internet for a solution to my problem. I'm not sure if I'm not wording my searches correctly or what the problem may be.

The problem I'm having is this:

I would like to make a dependent drop down using data from a separate worksheet in the same workbook. I'm fairly new to using Excel and don't understand a lot of the formulas/functions, but I believe I have a firm grasp on the basics.

I have attached a crude example. Keep in mind everything I have learned is from internet tutorials and this website.

I have named ranges and created the first tier and it is working fine, but I am entirely unsure of how to create the dependent drop down from data on a different worksheet.

(If you do download and change the sample workbook, please explain what you have done so I can learn it)

    Thanks In Advance

thank you, I have successfully duplicated the results there already - before posting. However, that seems to be incredibly more complex than what I need.

Perhaps the best way for me to understand is for someone to post and dissect the function that would work best in my sample upload.

I have added my data to sheet2. The desired effect is for a person to select from colA and have the next drop down display the corresponding result from c,e,or g.

    thank you for your help.

For anyone else out there with this problem, the key is named ranges. Simply insert your first drop down using the named range for that tier, and then =INDIRECT(cell of first drop down). Just make sure all of the ranges are named and it should work just fine.

I'm confused. I'm still trying to figure this out
