Can I work on 2 workbooks & change things

Can I open and work on 2 workbooks and change things. I'd like one to update futures data by dde and send orders to a trading platform by the SAS on the platform. The orders are sent autumatically called for by the platform. The other workbook I'd like to work and change things. If so is this a workspace? Do I have to buy a 2nd computer? Should I ask the platform? Is this just 2 open workbooks, where the automatic will sit on the bottom in the excel logo. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Deegames, welcome to the forum.

To answer your thread title and first sentence - Yes, you can open and work on two workbooks and change things.

As for the rest of what you typed, if you need specific feedback please provide a bit more detail as to what you're trying to do with these workbooks. Do you already have them built and running, i.e. you have an Excel workbook with macros that uses DDE to send orders to some trading software (platform?)?

What is the other (second) workbook for? Just to do other daily tasks not related to this DDE process? Or do changes in this second workbook also affect the first and/or the ordering process?

I'm not saying I know how to fix anything to do with DDE and updating 3rd party systems, but additional details may help attract someone who can. I'd also suggest changing your thread title to something that describes your actual problem. As it stands, anyone who reads it will just think to themselves "Yes" and move on.
