    Convert DATE to string

    Hi,

I have values in my excel spreadsheet that are DATE value, stored as Julian dates, and appear on the screen as "4-Apr-2011" etc.

If I convert this field to general text, it appears "40647" , that means the Julian-value of the date. What I'm looking for is an easy way to convert the DATE 4-Apr-2011 to the string value of Apr4.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Re: Convert DATE to string

    Hi ConneXionLost,

It worked, however Apr4 was still considered a date by Excel, I don't know why. I needed to add " " to the name to have an string.

    Many thanks
