    Updating a pivot table

    Hi everyone there.....I want some one to pass a bit of info about Pivot Tables...I have observed that Pivot Tables does not update as we add or subtract any data from the database on which Pivot Table has been created...So please let me know is there a way to do that....nd if there is a way please let me know as well.....!!!!

    Hi sshanku,

    Here are a few possible answers
    1. Base your Piviot Table on a Named Range of cells. If you insert or delete rows then the named range will still reflect the correct range.
    2. Create a Dynamic Named Range of cells that is the table you base you Pivot Table on. If you do it correctly you can even add rows to the bottom of your data and the pivot will reflect the rows. See:http://www.ozgrid.com/Excel/DynamicRanges.htm
    3. You may need to Refresh your Pivot Table using a Workbook.RefreshAll in VBA or click the correct command. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...001034632.aspx

    As the joke goes. We get better at this stuff by making mistakes. Many of mistakes. I hope the suggestions will keep you from having to learn how not to do it on your own. India - where?
