how to convert an html link embedded in an icon to plain text??

I am hoping someone can help me...
i am trying to convert an html link embedded in an icon to plain text in an excel spreadsheet in a new column.
I have creaed a macro that reads:

Please Login or Register  to view this content.

I then put this formula in the cell adjacent to the "mail icon"
=geturl(g2) the actual data is in g2... i am trying to pull the TEXT into g3...

the formula is being recognized...so i believe the macro is working but nothing is appearing in g3..

Can anyone help??? I need to invite my entire company to an event and dont want to cut and paste each email address,,, i will be here forever!! Help
