    Duplicate values in two columns

    Hello

I need to identify customer records where the customer id (column B) and job ref (column E) match. If one customer has three records for the same job, i want to be able to identify all three records in column K to allow further analysis. Anyone know how to do this for two columns?

    Thanks

The simplest way might be to have a Helper column, say, column L

Then collate the customer id and job ref, for example, =B2&"|"&E2 ... I use the "|" so it's easier to see the two elements.

Then in column K you can have a COUNTIF using column L. That is: =COUNTIF(L:L,L2) and copy down. Anything greater than 1 is a duplicate. Make it more sophisticated with an IF statement:

    =IF(COUNTIF(L:L,L2)>1,"dupe","")
