Data validation between workbooks when moved

I have a set of folders containing workbooks with data validation between the files that works perfectly. The problem is when I move the folder to another computer, the links between the workbooks stops working. The 'refers to' in the names manager of the destination file has the location of where the source file was, not where it is now. How do I stop this happening please?

One reason this could happen is if you use "Mapped" drive letters in your system when linking one Excel file to another in a network system. Windows Explorer on your computer will "know" where your mapped drive is pointing to. But another computer may not, probably will not, have the same mapped drive designated. So, the second computer would not know where to find the linked file.

Test this by taking one file and relinking the reference using only Network Neighborhood.Be sure to open the references via NN and not via Mapped Drives. If done this way, the references should be valid on any computer on the same network.

If you are working in a non network environment, then be sure your folder names and paths are EXACTLY the same on both PCs.

    Hope that helps.
