Counting specific words in cells containing more than one word

    Hello all,

Need a bit of help here in order to work out a formula, i have been playing around with countif and LEN but i cant seem to get the correct formula.

    The issue:

I have the following information in column A. So A1:A5

    Column A

    1NA.1 - Commute to work
    2NA.1 - Commute to work
    3NI.1 - Task Planning
    4UN.2 Worked on Marked E-mails
    5UI.1 - SLC contract Agreement

I want to find out how many times NA.1 appears in this range of data. So obv it occurs twice but whats the formula?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Does this do it?

    =COUNTIF(A1:A5,"*NA.1*")
Where there is a will there are many ways.
