    Trouble with vlookup

I'm having trouble getting vlookup to return the correct value.

    The lookup_value is BBB*-
    The table array is below:

    BBB+*- 8
    BBB+e 8
    BBB+ 8
    BBB+*+ 8
    BBB 9
    BBB*+ 9
    BBBe 9
    BBB*- 9

But the vlookup is returning 8 instead of 9. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I attached an excel sheet with the issue. Thanks for the help!

    Re: Trouble with vlookup

    Hi,

Sort the A1:B8 list first using column A as the sort key.
