Putting data separated by semi colon from one cell to multiple cells

    Hi

Firstly I would like to say that I am a VERY occasional Excel user and I have never done a course or been taught how to use the programme, so please keep any replies in plain English!

I have approx 900 email addresses in one cell separated by semi colons. How can I separate them into different cells within the same column?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Nicole

    Select the data.
Select the Data tab, then press Text to Columns, and specify delimited and specify semicolon as the delimiter, then press Finish.
Select the resulting row of data and copy it.
Then select a blank cell, click the Paste dropdown on the Home tab and choose the Transpose option.

Thank you. That's done the trick:-)
