    Language problem

    Hi folks,

I'm using Excel on a French edition of Windows 7, but my edition of Microsoft Office is in English (all the menus, functions..etc). However, as I'm trying to use the "autofill" function, it does not work in English. For example I tried to enter 'January' or 'Sunday' in a cell and I used the fill handle to autofill the rest of the column, but all that happens is the copying of the cell in the cells below. When I try with the French equivalent 'janvier' or 'lundi' everything's OK.

Thank you for your help !

You could create your own list.

    What does not work exactly?

I just added the following to my custom lists,
    Lundi
    Mardi
    Mercredi
    Jeudi
    Vendredi
    Samedi
    Dimanche

If I enter Lundi in a cell and then drag it down it auto fills with the other 6 day names.

Well, the auto-fill works in French without creating any new custom-list (but my Excel is in English !) that's why it's weird. While, in English, it does not work, I'll have to create a new custom-list, as you said, but there are tons to create !

Sounds like you should look into getting the french language pack then.
