    Data Validation for linked cell

    Can Data Validation works with auto-linked cell?

    Eg... Cell A1 is linked to B1, where B1 is selected based on drop down list.

    I want Data Validation to check if A1 is within the criteria.

    If not, can you suggest alternate method I can use beside VB programming?
