Master Formula (With no new knowledge, a more appropriate title is impossible)

So I think my problem with this is I don't know how to word what i want to do. I've tried indirect, address, substitute ect.

I have a basic Workbook that generates some SQL scripts. Its all very basic. Due to the number of bits of data created i want a master formula. So i can change the "master" and all the refrences to it will update.

Currently my formula looks like this:

Where bother d1 and d15 change. Another Example i use is

Right now i've got to update each row 1 at a time when i change the formula. With over 1500 rows affected its a huge pain.

Why in the world do you need to do that? You change the formula in row 1, then you copy the cell down that column, the formula as you've presented it will adjust itself as you copy down.

    Re: Master Formula

And after i update the formula i'll have to copy them all again.

They're also not all in the same row. Example:

The formula's are in column D,E,F & on rows 20-27, then 47-54 ect ect ect

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

    Re: Master Formula

I stated very clearly that i do not know what it is called that i want to do. I have also spent almost 5 hours searching google for the answer to my problem. Which is how i got here.

I read your forum rules... I stated my issue to the best of my knowledge. I came here because i need help, if i knew the answer i wouldn't be asking for it.

So the cookie cutter response is not needed... And i've also stated why the typical function of a basic formula will not work for my situation.

After a response like that i shouldn't be surprised you banned me.

I am entertained by the fact that posting a topic to get enough information to formulate the question results in a ban.

I suppose it is easier to click ban than challenge your minds... Bye

You obviously didn't agree with the Rules maybe you have trouble reading! It's no challenge to the mind to see that you can't even use a basic formula correctly
