    find first & last date/time

Hi, I have a large shreadsheet with data from warehouse picking rates. The detail includes the date & time of each pick e.g. 28/06/2011 20:04:26 and the "Operator ID" (a unique code).

There are around 300 peoples picking actions (actions which often only take a few seconds so there are more than a few lines!).

Can anyone please give me an idea on how I can find the first and last time for each person?

The final objective is to calculate the average number of picks per person per hour. Most of this I think I can handle but haven't a clue where to start with finding the first and last times.

    Any advice is appreciated

if your date/time is all in column a you could use =Min(A:A) and =Max(A:A) to find the smallest and largest values.
Do you have a sample of your data in a work book to look at?
