Help! I need to create a formula that allows for the following conditions:
If cell A1
contains a parenthesis then = chat
If any other data without parenthesis then cell = Callcenter
If cell is empty then = direct
Welcome to the forum. Give this a whirl:
=IF(ISBLANK(A1),"direct",IF(OR(ISNUMBER(SEARCH({"{","}"},A1))),"chat","Callcenter"))
try to test:
=IF(ISBLANK(A1),"direct",IF(A1="parenthesis","chat","Callcenter"))
or
=IF(A1="","direct",IF(A1="parenthesis","chat","Callcenter"))
That doesn't seem to work it is not pulling the chat
The parenthesis is only part of the other content in the cell for example and entry and be either of the following:
ITS - Joy Whited (1289)
or
JoyMarie Minichelli
First would be chat
Second would be CallCenter
If field blank it is Direct
By "parentheses" I thought you meant { }, rather than ( )
To pick out ( ) amend the formula to this:
