Conditional Formatting quirk with Number formatting

I set up a spreadsheet with conditional formatting to format # of digits based on cell C1 (see attached). However, if I input a few in a row, the first three (E1:E3) seem to fall behind ! If I re-enter the exact same # (i.e. 3) they catch up, or if I hit F9. Anyone ever seen this before.

I know there is a bug with the Number Formatting in XL2007 conditional formatting.. I have experienced it... I just can't find the written evidence....

Here's where I first experienced it and a link that shows it is a known issue...

i get weird things with cf too in 2007. example cf of
=len(a1)<8 background red and a1 is the result of a vlookup
the cell doesn't change colour at all then strangely 2-3 minutes later it does,f9 has no effect switching sheets anything it just takes ages!

    Hi,

I can't replicate this in XL 2007 or XL 2010. Do you have the latest service pack installed and did you double check that you have calcs set to automatic?
    Hope that helps,

    Colin

    Thanks to all.

Colin, I definitely have calcs set to auto but on a worknetwork, not sure where I'd look to see the service pack.

Re: Conditional Formatting quirk with Number formatting

This bug was fixed in 2007 service pack 1:
Conditional Formatting that applies number formats is incorrect for all non en-us language version of Excel 2007. This problem results in unexpected rendered numbers or render failure.
I guess you're using en-us, but perhaps it fixes yours too? Either way, downloading the latest updates is definitely worth a shot...

I have SP2 and it seems to affect my version.... The thread I linked above was a real headache with me and the OP and I was on SP2 then too.
