    parsing a data table

I've got a data set that I'd like to parse into a report table. There are two unique values (place and color) that get matched, the retrieved values are then sorted by ascending date on the report table. I've uploaded an Excel workbook that has a data tab and a report tab. The report tab has the data in the format that I am looking for. Suggestions? Thanks in advance for advice and possible solutions.

    Re: parsing a data table

Thanks- but the actual table that I am working on is quite a bit more complicated than my example. I will have a need for further conditionals that a pivot table will not be able to handle.

I'd been working with INDEX/MATCH functions w/only limited success. Thanks.
