Extracting lines from a table based on market type

    Hey All,

I think this problem is probably a simple one to answer.

I have a list of companies in an excel table. The companies each have various data associated with their entry in a series of columns. One such entry is the company's vertical (the type of industry they belong to).

In a separate tab I want to be able to create lists of companies that change based on the vertical I select.

I looked at filters but I'd have to have one tab for each vertical rather than being able to select the vertical and have the data in the tab change.

I also looked at Pivot tables but I couldn't see a way to list the company *and* all it's associated data base on the selection of the vertical.

I'd be grateful for any guidance you can give.

    Best regards,

    P.

Hi... generally, it's helpful to attach a workbook with some sample data, structured the same way as the data in your personal file. That'll help the incredibly smart and helpful people here quite a bit. Good luck!
