    Remove duplicate rows

I have an excel worksheet with a few thousands of data. IDs on column A, names on column B, addresses on column C, and “compliance date” on column D. Original compliance date: 08/26/11. Many accounts appear to have duplicates. However, column D shows, each duplicate has different “compliance date” 08/27/2011. What is the fastest way to remove these duplicates? (But, instead of keeping the original dates: 08/26/2011, I want to keep 08/27/2011.) Thank you for your help.

ID # ADDRESS NAME Comp. Date

    12345 1 A St Mr. V 8/26/2011
    12345 1 A St Mr. V 8/27/2011
    123456 2 B St Mr. W 8/26/2011
    123456 2 B St Mr. W 8/27/2011
    1234567 3 C St Mrs. X 8/26/2011
    12345678 4 D St Mrs. Y 8/26/2011
    12345679 5 E St Mrs. Z 8/26/2011
    12345979 5 E St Mrs. Z 8/27/2011

    Re: Remove duplicate rows

    Hello,

sort the data table by the date column, with the latest date at the top.

Click a cell in the table, then click Data > Remove Duplicates
Make sure all columns are ticked in the dialog and check if your data has headers.
    Click OK

    cheers,
