Generate word document from excel file

I have an excel file of share holders of my company stock. I'd like to add a button on row (next to the person's name) that will allow me to generate a stock certificate that I can print or save when I click the button. It would have to merge info like, name, address, shares, etc.

    Is this even possible?

    Hi Steve,

I'm thinking Word mailmerge using the list from Excel is what I'd be looking at.

In the merge process you can select the rows from excel you want to merge.

Thanks - that's sort of what I want to do. However, I have 500 rows of data so I'd like to be able to put a "generate certificate" button next to each row so I can go in and regenerate that one certificate based upon the data that is in that row in my excel file.

    Any other suggestions?

    Steve

If you put a column next to your data in Excel and put an x in all the ones you want to generate, you can use the x as a criteria from the WORD mailmerge to only print those records.

This code might help in the attached.

That's pretty cool. I like that.

So once I have an "x" in the rows I want to generate, can I generate separate certificates for each person with a single click of a button?

    Thanks again.

The idea is that you would do that from WORD. Your filter in word is the names with the X in the columns next to your names, etc.
