How to calculate a special total on a Pivot Table

Hi. I posted this question on Wed night, but did not do a very good job at asking the question right, so here is my attempt #2 with a better example attached.

I have created spreadsheet with production details. The last two column are the same, I just have one with one formula and the other with a conditional formula to ensure that my answers are right. When I create a Pivot Table, I can't figure out how to get the same totals at the end of each ship date. Does anyone know what formula I can use in the PIVOT TABLE (shown next to the worksheet data) to achieve the same total as is in the "Daily Avail Bal to Ship" column? I have to do this for my job and am stuck, stuck, stuck.

    Thanks,
    MM

Re: How to calculate a special total on a Pivot Table

    Hi, Alan:

I had tried the calculated fied, the only issue is that the formulas on the worksheet are based on adding the previous day's available + today actual - today's shipments. I had to create a conditional formula in the worksheet that reads that if the "type" is P (for program) that the formula works one way and if it an "s" for shipment is works another. However, I can't do that with a forumla on the Pivot Table since the Pivot Table is working with totals. Any thoughts?
