HELP! Refresh issues leading to distorted display

    Hi,

I have been using Excel for years and probably spend about half my working day working with spreadsheets. I recently started using a new laptop and ever since then I have been having incredibly frustrating issues with Excel's display. At random intervals the display seems to scramble and distort. Rows are no longer aligned where they should be and some text disappears or only a part of it shows. It seems to be when the screen refreshes and worsens when I'm using freeze panes and filters. I can't identify what starts the problem, but it gets worse throughout the day and copy and pasting between workbooks often causes the issue. But not always.

This problem has been going on for months now and no-one can seem to help. I am using Windows 2007 and was initially using Excel 2003. I am now using Excel 2010 on a trial basis to see if this helps.

I have attached a pdf of a screen shot to illustrate how this looks.

Scrolling up or down or switching between workbooks resolves it, but the problem seems to worsen throughout the day until I get to a point where I'm having to switch screens after every action. Needless to say my work isn't too efficient at the moment!

I also had exactly the same problem - it was happening every few keystrokes and was driving me absolutely nuts for months now - however after searching forums I found a solution which up to now seems to have worked, so thank you so much to the person who stumbled across this.

select File, Option, Advanced, Display, and tick the checkbox to 'Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration'

    Thank heavens for the internet.
