    Conditional formatting based on dates - don't know how.

    Hey all,

    Excel newbie here. I wanted to find out what is very likely an easy thing to do, just don't know how. Here's what I want to do:

    There are two columns right next to one another. The one on the right has a date that something is expected to happen by. What I want to do is use conditional formatting to set it so that if that date passes, the column to the right changes background color and reads "No". That way, at a glance, I can very quickly see when something is overdue.

    How can I do this for the entire column?

    Cheers,
    Q

    =IF(TODAY()-A1>0,"Pass Due","Not Due")

    Select the column or range that you want to change color, let's say B2:B1000 (this is your column with dates in them)

    Conditional Format> Use a formula
    = AND($B2<= TODAY(), ISNUMBER($B2))
    Does this work for you?
    ChemistB
    My 2?

    substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires
