I have a hopefully, simple question.

I've just satred at a new company and i'm hopeful i can improve the current process for collating stats. There are two systems I need to extract data from, 1 is stored on the customers servers, which is accessed by RDP & 1 on my companys server.

Both systems will extract to Excel.

There is currently a spreadsheet in place that has 3 tabs - Stats, Customers Data, Our data.

The Stats tab has numerous formulas that pull data from the other 2 tabs and everything works lovely.


My issue is, the customer data & our data tabs are populated by someone having to open the excel extracted from the internal or customer system, arrange the columns in the right order match the stats spreadsheet and then copy & paste.
Obviously this opens all sorts of issues - not all data being copied, columns in the wrong order breaking formulas etc.

My thoguhts are that i should be able to save the extracted spreadsheets on our network and then pull the data in to the stats spreadsheet - i can achive this quite easily, but my problem comes when i try and re-share the workbook, were Excel throws up a load of errors!

How do i pull the data externally AND share the workbook?
