    Reports from excel to word

    Hi there,
Im not sure if this is possible but would appreciate any help on this...

If i had some data saved in Excel and wanted to trasnfer this data onto a microsft word document by clicking on a "Submit" button. Is this possible and it is it difficult to accomplish? I know the basics of excel and not much in programming or forumals therefore any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi hungrytiger86,

There are at least two methods that can get Excel Data into Word.
    1. Copy and paste using the windows clipboard, from Excel into Word
    2. Use the Mail Merge feature of Word and grab information from Excel. See http://www.csd509j.net/district_info...erge_excel.pdf

If neither of those are what you need then we need a better discription of the question.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

Re: Reports from excel to word

Sorry i should've give more detail - ok here goes:

The excel sheet - There will be data/information stored on here. Such as Name, address etc. The headings will not be all in the top column and might have different fields where they are located in.

There will be a few sections on excel. Section 1 - Personal details, Section 2 Weight details, Section 3 - Pricing details. This will all be on one worksheet.

Each worksheet will represent one persons details therefore all 3 sections need to be complete

Once all this information has been complete(i.e all the sections complete) i'd want to press on a command button in excel which would submit this data in to an word document.

Is there such a command button that would do that?

I hope this makes more sense.. if not I will attach a copy of the excel file

    Thanks once again

    Hi,
It sounds like you are going to need VBA or a Macro to copy and paste some areas of you workbook to a Word file.

If you could attach a sample workbook and word file it might make more sense to us.

Re: Reports from excel to word

I have attached the file in which i need help with.
Basically the attached file is the base where we collect all the data - (I have just put in brief fields at the moment but there will be more and it will contain forumlas hence why its not done dorectly on to a word doc.)

As you will be able to see.. there is a "submit" button. Once this form has been complete i want the "submit" button to perform the following action:

Transfers all details inputted on the form to a word document.

I want to get away from copying and pasting and just researching to find a way if this can be transferred on to a word document straight away?
