Why does the icon name for my embedded text files change after saving?

    Red face Why does the icon name for my embedded text files change after saving?

    I have used the embedded object feature for years and have never encountered this problem. I embed a .txt file, choose "Display as Icon" and it appears fine, until I save it. Them the Icon and Icon name change to a strage numbered name. However, I do not seem to have this problem with Word or Excel files. ?

    I suggest you attach a sample of your workbook so we can see what's happening. (Remember to replace any confidential data before uploading.)
