    conditional formatting a formula for enitre column

    I am trying to do a conditional format for an entire column that will put a specific number in column F, if column E is greater than 0. I can get the formula to work if I just enter in the cell, but I can not get formula to work on conditional formatting.

    Put this formula into the conditional formatting for cell F1, then copy the formatting down to the bottom of the column:

    =E1>0
    Is your code running too slowly?

    Thank you. I have tried that. I am looking for the value 5 in column F, if column E is greater than 0 and if column E is equal to 0 then remain blank.
    I have tried entering this code in the conditional fomatting formula rules manager but returns nothing in cell.
    [code]=($E:$E>0,5,"")[code]

    Just put =E1>0, then copy the format down the whole column. You can't use E:E in the conditional formatting. Be sure to use relative references.
