Returning few characters from a certain position

    Hi,

How do I get certain characters of a long string returned from a certain position?

For example... if i have a string which goes like: "abcdefghij"

I want to write a fromula which returns say 2 characters from position 3. This should return 'cd'.

LEFT only returns chracters from the first position. Hence, that doesn't help me much here.

    Thanks,
    Tabraiz

    Try:

    =MID(A2,3,2)

    where A2 contains original string.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
