Change color of line in line graph

I want to make a line graph in Excel 2003. I have three categories on the x-axis (say A,B,C). Y-axis has the values 1, 2, 3 for line X. 4, 5, 6 for line Y and 2, 3, 4 for line Z.

Now I want the line X to change color or become dashed (or similar) between B and C.
Y to change color/dashed between A and B.
Z to change color/dashed between B and C.

Is there any way of doing this?
Do you know of any other programme capable of this? SPSS perhaps?

You can either format individual points along the lines or use extra data series.

For the extra data series just remove un wanted data points. Format the first series as dashed and then the second partial series as solid to mask the dashed lines

I can't find the function for formatting individual points. How did you do it?

Select the line, any formatting done now will affect the whole line.

Use the Right arrow key to move through the data points. Any formatting done now will affect only the select data point. For lines you need to select the second point in order to alter the line connecting 1st and 2nd data points.
