    Data required in DD-MM-YYYY format

    Hi,

I have huge data in excel in the below fomat (its in DD-mm-YYYY format only)

    10.08.1988
    12.05.1990

I need to get the above date in the blelow fomat.

    10-Aug-1988
    12-May-1990

I replaced all .(dot) with hyphen and change the format to DD-MM-YYYY but instead of showing as 08-Oct-1988 instead of 10-Aug-1988. Please suggest how to do it.

Attached the sample for your ref.

    Thanks,

    in cell D3 use

    =--(MID(C3,4,2)&"/"&LEFT(C3,2)&"/"&MID(C3,7,4))

and copy down and apply format as dd-mmm-yy
    or use

    =TEXT(--(MID(C3,4,2)&"/"&LEFT(C3,2)&"/"&MID(C3,7,4)),"dd-mmm-yy") and copy down
