Change Cell Color When Value Is Below or Above

How can I make a cell color change when the value goes below or above a certain dollar amount?

I want the cell color to change red when the dollar amount is below $5000, and I want the cell color to change green when the dollar value is $12000 or above.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hello Fella,

    In Excel 2003 -

    Selct the cells to format
Go to Format (along the top)
    Select Conditional Formatting
    'Cell Value Is'
    Less Than
    Enter your figure,
    go to the pattern tab,
    select the desired colour
    hit enter

Repeat as needed for whatever format you want, changing cell value to suit (less than, greater than etc)
