Excel 2007 : Rank cells by highest to lowest???

Hello, I am new here and have searched around for the answer to my question but haven't had any luck. Not sure if its a matter of it just not being possible or if I just am doing a poor job searching...
If this has been asked and answered already, I would be more than happy with someone simply pointing me in the direction to that thread. Otherwise, here's my question:

Ok, so I need to be able to have a list of names, say 20 of them. There will be a few cells of data going horizontally per person with third or fourth cell totaling the data. I then need the cells next to the totals to have a number (1 through 20, or whatever the amount of names there are) automatically inputted based on the total. The name with the highest total will get a 20, the second highest a 19, and so on...
1. Does this make sense? and
2. Can it be done?
