    Default UPPERCASE in column

    Hello all,

This is my first post here, hope I'm doing it right!

I'm trying to set the default for a column to be uppercase and cannot for the life of me figure out how. I'm using Excel 2010.

Basically staff enter info across the row and I want column G to automatically convert what they type into uppercase.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi maaikebutter
    Welcome to the forum
Worksheet event code is stored on a worksheet module. To add it to your worksheet, do the following:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    Copy the code
Select the worksheet in which you the code to run
Right click on the sheet tab and choose View Code, to open the Visual Basic Editor.
Where the cursor is flashing, choose Edit | Paste

    Thanks Pike, much appreciated.

Forgive my ignorance, but which things do I need to change in the code to make it applicable to my particular spreadsheet, ie: column I (apologies, I know I said column G earlier)

Apologies, haven't much experience with code (yet!).

Thanks pike. Unfortunately it's not worked, I think I'll just leave it.

it works for me for column g1 to g1000

you need to put it in the worksheet module not just a module1

    Re: Default UPPERCASE in column

Ah, I see the problem now, I updated my post to column "I" rather than "G" but I see G's still in the coding. Will change & see.

Update: it worked, thanks very much.
