Help with datafeed and spreadsheet format

I get datafeeds from a supplier that are in a format where the categories are all in one cell.
Example: "Category|subcat1|subcat2" and divided by " | " (dont know what that symbol is called)

I need this in the spreadsheet in 3 cells (colums)

    Category (cell one) subcat1 (cell2) subcat2 (cell3)

    Thanks

Use the "Text to Columns" function in the Data Ribbon (Excel 2007 / 2010). Select "Deliminated", then select "Other" and type the "|" in.

Choose the destination for the product and problem solved.

*I do not have an older version of Excel on my computer to find exactly where the Text to Columns function would be, but I assume it is in the Data tab. Excel 2000 and 2003 do have this function though, you might just have to poke around to find it.
