    Unhappy Typing Problems

When I start working on Excel, For 4-5 hours it works well. But after some time when i enter "=" it types '^' and for 'Y' it types 'Z' and many more other shortcuts also get changed. Plz hep me if any one else has experienced the same problem with excel. I am using Dell laptops this problem was there with lattitude 6300 and currently with lattitude 6400. I am using Excel 2000.

    Hello,

Excel 2000? Is that a typo? What operating system? Do you have different keyboard layouts set up on the laptop? Some key combinations switch between different keyboard layouts. For example, I have US English and German keyboards on my machine, and I toggle between them with Alt-Shift.

Sometimes I accidentally press Alt-Shift and the keyboard layout changes to the other language, which will exchange Z and Y and other keys.

In Windows XP these settings can be changed in the Language Bar or through Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages tab > Details button > Here you can add or remove input languages and keyboard layouts.

    cheers,
