Drop downs in Pivot Table

I have a spreadsheet that was created in '07. It was sent to a user who only has '03. I saved the spreadsheet into the '03 version. She can access it however on the pivot table the drop down arrows do not work. Can you tell me why and/or if there is a fix for this? I have Excel '07 and the drop down arrows work fine for me even though the spreadsheet is now saved to the 97-2003 format.
