Need help with vlookup file paths!

    Hello Everyone,

New user to the forums here. Searched for this particular problem, but can't seem to find a solution.

I have an excel template that uses various vlookup functions that reference another excel file. Both of these files are saved in the same folder on the network drive at my work. Excel keeps changing the vlookup file path to a temporary "roaming folder." At first, this doesn't pose a problem and all of the links still work, but if I close down the template file, and reopen it, the links will not update because it cannot locate this "temporary roaming file."

The ultimate goal here is for various users to be able to input certain data into this template and have it autopopulate with information from this other excel file, so if the links keep breaking, then nobody will be able to use this template! Below is the original file path vlookup and then what excel changes it to (sensitive information in the file paths has been ***'d). Any help would be appreciated!!

    Original: =VLOOKUP($CZ6,'N:\M****** Strategy\Agency Port Analysis\[PoolDataBase.xlsx]Database1'!$A$1:$AQ$800000,4,FALSE)/1000

What excel changes it to: =VLOOKUP($CZ6,'C:\Users\k****\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\[PoolDataBase.xlsx]Database1'!$A$1:$AQ$800000,4,FALSE)/1000

    Thanks Everyone,
    LangerXXV

I also just realized that the draft thread I wrote last night accidentally was posted, so I apologize for the double post!

I am having exactly the same problem with my hyperlinks being changed to 'C:\Users\Andy\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel......etc".
These changes are happening to ALL hyperlinks to other spreadsheets, not only pivot tables.
Does anyone know what these "roaming files" are and how to prevent these changes occurring?
I have never had this problem before until I upgraded to eXcel 2007!

    Thanks everyone
