    Returning a value based on certain criteria

    I have attached a file for your review. The file has no formulas, it is what I want it to look like.

    In the file, there are 4 columns:

    1. Plan Number (pre-populated)
    2. PM (pre-populated)
    3. LOB (pre-populated)
    4. Compare (data to be returned)

    In column A (Plan Number), there is a list of numbers...some are duplicated. In Column C (LOB), this is a single word "TECH" in some rows. What I am looking to do is to serch each Role.....IF the word TECH is in Column C, I want the word "Yes" to be populated in Column D (Compare) for each row which the number in Column A is the same.

    Sorry if this is confusing. Please see attached.

    I made some comments in your copy of Excel. Is there is "TECH" in column E, I want "YES" to return for each rolw which has teh name number in column A.

    You're right...We can do it, without helper column
