    Formula Too Long

    Hello again

I need help possibly consolidating a formula or finding another way to do a formula since it's too long. Here's what I need it to be which is too long:

Basically, what I have is a spreadsheet that has drop downs that a user will choose from and once they choose a drop down, the above formula will put a value in the cell and each drop down adds another value, up to 15 drop down/values.

    Re: Formula Too Long Help

Maybe others will not go blind reading that "eye chart" (aka "formula).

However, it would be best if you clearly explain your objective and upload a sample workbook (fake data) that shows a few examples of the desired outcome.
Include only enough data to help with the solution.

    Do you know . . . ?

Good point! I just created an example out of my worksheet. I'm attaching it here.

    @ Palmetto

Don't open the sample attachment, it will ruin your eyes unless you are wearing a welders' visor!
It might even irrepairably destroy your chrystal ball ...

I don't understand, what is wrong with the spreadsheet? What can I do to fix it?

    heather1209,

I think you would be best served breaking the calculations out... e.g.:

Obviously Col Q used only for sake of demo. could be wherever (even on a different sheet) and/or column could be hidden.
(Note: Q2 assumed to be empty)

The above is not an exact replica in so far as should have items selected out of sequence (eg 1, 2, 4) the above would list 1,2 & 4 whereas original would list only 1,2 - was not sure which to be accurate.
