    Question Converting a text date and time into a number

    Hi there,

    I am trying to covert firstly a text date in the following format to a number:

    Oct 12 2001

    And the following time to a number:

    12:57AM

    I am getting #VALUE with everything I seem to be trying... any help please?

    Hi Laura,

    Is your time is also in Text format?
    If not, you can simply format that as General and get to know the value. Alternatively, you can use Value function to get the respecitve number for that date:-

    Where a1 contains the time.

    Assuming you have the text date in cell c24, use following formula to convert it it number:-
