Excel 2007 : Calculate # of acquisitions of a given acquirer in the past 5 years of a given date

Hi People!!


Please save me a couple of hours of doing this manually. I will reward you from your effort.


I'm a student and I'm writing my thesis about Mergers and Acquisitions.

I want to calculate how many acquisitions a certain acquirer (identified with a code name) has done prior to a specific acquisition at a specific date (the date of every acquisition is given).

Here's a screen shot... I already started calculating but manually. I'm quite sure there should be a formula.
