Filling individual answers in their groups

Hi,

I'm running across a common problem in a survey where not more than one person in each group answered a question, and I want to be able to fill their answer across all members of the group they are in. Sometimes, however, no-one answers in a group.

In the example below (and attached), group 1 would fill with yes, group 2 with no, group 3 with yes, and group 4 would remain blank (since no one answered in that group), etc...

Any ideas how to find the answer for each group and fill to the other members?

Wonderful, thanks a ton, this works!

One question, if there are many different options for answers (in addition to "yes" and "no", "maybe" "yeah right" and "in your dreams!"), is there an easier way to do the same with these extra answers than embed more IF functions to capture each? Just wondering if there is something else I should know about.

Coming to your query:- Let there be more answers but that should be specifically one for each group to use above formula e.g... for Group 9, an answer could be either "Yeah right" or blanks only BUT If there would be more answers per group, then how would you select as which option will be filled in respective blank cells for that particular group... think through this and let me know your thoughts.. thanks.
