Excel 2003 - conditional formatting question

Hi All,
If there is a date after 01/01/2012 in column F, I want the cell in the same row colored in column A.
Thanks you for the help!

Re: Excel 2003 - conditional formatting question

Under conditional formatting, select new rule...format only cells that contain...cell value...greather than...1/1/2012.
Select whatever color you want and "accept"
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

I mentioned that this is Excel 2003; those options are for the later version. Can you help me write the formula? Thanks.

Re: Excel 2003 - conditional formatting question

Select column A and go to Format|Conditional Formatting.

Select Formula Is from drop down and enter:

=$F1>DATE(2012,1,1)

where F1 corresponds to first cell selected in column A.

Click Format and choose from Pattern tab.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
