Hi
I am trying to get A1 to show "no" unless a value other than N/A is added to either B1 or B2, then A1 shall show "yes"
any ideas please?

If you mean that N/A is a returned error (#N/A) then
If N/A is a string (abbr for "Not Available") thenPlease Login or Register to view this content.

Hi
Yes sorry "N/A" is just a value ive entered (not applicable)
So i tried to use the 2nd formula you kindly provided but it doesn't seem to work as the value stays the same (yes or no)when entries added to either B1 or B2.
Just to confirm what im trying to achieve:
B1 & B2 currently show "N/A" and A1 shows "No", however if the user enters a value in either B1 or B2 then A1 will show "Yes"
hope that makes sense
thanks for your time
Change the OR() statement to AND()

sorry it still doesn't work - the value remains the same
any ideas?
thanks
sorry it does work i didn't type it in right DOH!
thanks very much
FWIW the formulae on the forum are enclosed between code tags so you can copy them easily
Happy to have helped.
